Nivis Gear company founder Carter Ramos and other representatives will be at the base of the Steamboat Resort this week introducing their premium ski and snow sport brand to those headed for the slopes.

“We are pumped to introduce the Steamboat area to Nivis, and we believe that people will see what makes Nivis different in an outerwear space that has become crowded,” said Mike Roberson, a spokesperson for the company.

Nivis Gear, a growing outerwear brand selling premium ski and snow gear, will feature its lineup of jackets and base layers at a pop-up store located in Gondola Square near the base of the escalator starting on New Year’s Day. The pop up will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Thursday until Sunday. The pop-up store will offer a full line-up of sizes for all its most popular products.

The items included the Nivis Protego Pro Shell a fully seam-sealed PFSA-free, three-layer shell that provides top-level waterproofing while allowing a high level of breathability. It is made from a tough and flexible four-way stretch fabric that also offers freedom of movement as well as protection for the elements.

The pop-up store will also feature the Everyday Puffy a traditional puffer jacket style, the Tendo Jacket, manufactured for everyday conditions on the mountain that is perfect for the weekends, and in real-life during the workweek. The Protego Ski Jacket Nivis’ insulated outer layer offers 60 grams of PrimaLoft insulation for reliable warmth will also be features and customers can also find the Protego Shell, which is Nivis’ original shell jacket.

“The founders are working hard to institute some new features that can help differentiate our products in this the space,” Roberson said. “It’s definitely a boutique brand that’s growing and working to expand.”

Nivis Gear was established in 2015 when Ramos came up with the idea for the brand as part of a high school Latin class. In the years that have followed, the company has added partners Bobby Morris and Matthew Goodwin and has expanded its offerings to include a new line of jackets introduced in 2023.

Roberson said the Steamboat Resort is a great place show off Nivis products to the outdoor enthusiasts who will appreciate their value.

“Nivis is a growing brand that’s kind of fighting for space in the crowded outerwear area, but Nivis is trying to bring a fresh perspective to everything,” Roberson said.  “We’re excited, and we have been kind of doing some road dogging around to get out in front of people, sharing it in the news with media outlets and writers — We’re excited to bring it to the Steamboat Springs audience.”
