Museum to host second installment of cooking series
The Tread of Pioneers Museum will present the second installment in its three-part food series titled “A Taste of History” at noon Friday, Feb. 26. The program features historic recipes, cooking methods and food tastings to offer the flavor of our local heritage.
The second installment will showcase “Recipes and Stories of the late Elaine Gay.” Gay was known far and wide for her pies, French bread, fudge and more, and the program will feature friends and family preparing her recipes for sampling. The event will also include remembrances and stories of Gay, who was often referred to as the “matriarch of the Yampa Valley.”
