For those who submitted grant interest forms to Colorado Parks and Wildlife as part of their Outdoor Equity Grant Program applications, selections will be sent out by Aug. 5.

Following the selection process, full applications will be due by 5 p.m. Sept. 15. Decisions will be announced on Nov. 20 and funds will be dispersed by March 30, 2027.

The program funds organizations and projects that improve access, representation, meaningful participation and quality experiences for youth and their families in the Colorado outdoors.

Initially, participants submit grant interest forms — which were due in June. Then reviewers choose organizations to apply for grants. Following selection, full applications need to be submitted.

Non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations, schools and school districts, federally-recognized tribes and local governments are eligible to receive grants of up to $100,000.

These OEGP grants are designed to decrease barriers to the outdoors for “traditionally-excluded youth, provide responsible recreation experiences, create conservation opportunities, and support job and career training for low-income, racially and ethnically diverse youth, LBGTQ+ youth, the disability community and American Indian and Native youth,” according to CPW.
