Routt County CSU Extension is inviting community members to three free community dinners this fall, with the aim of celebrating collective history and fostering lasting connections through the joy of shared meals in commemoration of Colorado’s 150th birthday, states a Monday news release.

To celebrate the Centennial State’s birthday, CSU Extension partnered with nonprofit Longer Tables for “150 Tables Across Colorado” to create connections in communities across the state.

The locally planned dinners will be held in South Routt on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the I-Design Greenhouse; in Hayden on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Historic Granary; and in Steamboat Springs on Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center.

Each dinner will include locally grown ingredients, celebrating local farmers, ranchers, entrepreneurs and the people that make Routt County special. Participants are invited to attend solo or bring a friend.

“In a time that can feel divided, let’s lean into connection,” wrote Routt County CSU Extension officials in the release. “Share a meal, meet someone new, and celebrate the community we all love.”

RSVPs are required to attend. To RSVP, visit TinyUrl.com/RouttLongerTables or call 970-879-0825. The RSVP form will close the Friday before each dinner, or earlier if spots fill up.
