Spirit Challenge Steamboat Springs Running Series race returns Saturday

— The Steamboat Springs Running Series returns Saturday for its second event of the season, the Spirit Challenge Race and Fun Run at Steamboat Springs Middle School.

The race will feature 10-kilometer and 5-kilometer runs, as well as a kid’s fun run. The longer races begin at 9 a.m. The 5K will follow a loop along Butcherknife Trail, and the 10K will go out-and-back along Amethyst Drive.

Online registration for the event closed Thursday, but registration is still available between 4 and 6 p.m. at Twisted Trails Running Company in downtown Steamboat Springs, during packet pick-up. Registration will also be available before the races Saturday morning.
