Routt County track teams travel to Regionals, Steamboat lacrosse and soccer finish regular season

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — It’s the final week of spring competition before the postseason for Routt County sports. Coming off spring break, Steamboat Springs High School’s track and field athletes will work to be in full stride at the Class 4A Regional Track meet in Grand Junction. Both Hayden and Soroco high schools’ track and field teams will also be in attendance for Class 2A regionals.

Steamboat girls soccer and lacrosse and boys lacrosse will finish out their regular season schedules and await postseason placements. The girls lacrosse team is hanging by a thread at No. 17 in the RPI rankings and will need to stay within the top 20 for a postseason berth while the boys team is at No. 5 in the RPI standings, looking to host playoff games through the quarterfinal round. Steamboat baseball will wrap up its road schedule this week before hosting its one home game at Emerald Mountain Ball Fields at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11.
