Rams win in road rout

There wasn’t much pressure on the Soroco High School girls basketball team Friday as the squad improved to 3-1. The Rams ran away from Twin Peaks Academy in Longmont, winning on the road, 85-8.

“We played pretty well,” coach David Bruner said. “We slowed the ball down a lot in the second half to work on our discipline. We made some mistakes, but we talked about them, and the girls responded really well.”

Briana Peterson scored 32 points. DaKota Bruner had 18.

A junior varsity game left the varsity team with a short bench Friday, limiting the amount of subbing possible. That got a little tense when fouls racked up in the first half, but the game was never in doubt.

Soroco next plays Friday in its home opener against Rangely.
