Muss has career-best day in Italy

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Alpine snowboarder AJ Muss had the best performance of his career Saturday, riding to 11th in a parallel slalom event in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.

Muss made the finals at a World Cup event for the first time in his career. He lost in his first head-to-head race, against Italy’s Aaron March.

One-time Steamboat rider Vic Wild finished seventh in the the event. Justin Reiter was 24th, and Converse Fields was 41st.



A pair of riders who’ve trained in Steamboat Springs fared well on the women’s side, as well. Ester Ledecka placed fourth, and Ekaterina Tudegesheva was seventh.
