Steamboat Springs freshman Kyle Case places American Flags on the lawn in front of the Yampa Valley Bank Thursday evening in Steamboat Springs. Case organized the memorial, which includes one American flag for every victim of the attack. The Case family is hoping the effort will help raise money to be donated to Steamboat Springs resident and former New York City firefighter Kevin Nerney, who is being treated for cancer. Nerney retired about two months before the terror attacks and returned immediately to New York City in September 2011 for 10 days of volunteering and attending memorial services, including those of nine of his former firefighter colleagues.
