This is Connor Stevenson a 2nd grader at Strawberry Park Elementary. Connor raised $1650.00 during Jump Rope for Heart for the American Heart Association in honor of his little brother who is in Kindergarten at SPE as well. Way to go Connor! Submitted by Allison Sabat.

The local all-women group, the Broad Band will be the opening act for the Lunafest event at Library Hall on Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. The members include: Susie Leeson on banjo, Carol Ives on bass, Sheila Farney on guitar and ukulele, Kate Parke on guitar, Gail Holthausen on guitar, Linday Young on mandolin and Elizabeth Danielson on the fiddle.

Hayden’s new superintendent, Phil Kasper, is pictured during an awards ceremony with his wife, Shirley. Kasper has received numerous accolades during his career and in 2004 was honored as a distinguished principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

Steamboat Springs Middle School eighth-grader Bennett Gamber takes part in a motivational session put on by Todd Musselman during the Journey Ahead workshop , which took place Tuesday on the Colorado Mountain College Campus in Steamboat Springs. The workshop drew more than 150 eighth grade boys from Routt and Moffat County for the workshop, which was designed to give the young men positive role models, and encouragement as they prepare for high school next year.
