Katie Grobe, left, has served the Yampa Valley Pregnancy Center as executive director for the past five years, and turned over the reigns this week to Vicki Van Couvering, right. Grobe will start Monday as a self-sufficiency case manager for Moffat County Social Services. Van Couvering will donate her time as the interim executive director through the summer in hopes of improving the center's financial picture.

Developers of a new private nine-hole golf course will be seeking a permit from Routt County Planning. The planned course, which is located at the corner of Colorado Highway 131 and Routt County Road 18, is being built on the Windwalker Ranch.

Al Shepherd accepts the Moffat County United Way Volunteer of the Year award from board member and City Councilor Joe Bird Wednesday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion. Shepherd has been a part of community service for decades, involved with Craig Lions Club, Elks, Kiwanis Club and more service organizations throughout his life.

Molly Goldberg said she struggled with academics as a teen and barely graduated high school, but she's now flourished as a student at Colorado Mountain College. She graduates with an associate's degree during a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at The Steamboat Grand and is one of three speakers for the event.
