Letter: Let us vote on Brown Ranch

It is doubtful that anyone would disagree that we need more affordable housing in Steamboat, and whether or not you agree with Brown Ranch being the answer, everyone I have spoken with does agree that as residents, we should have a vote on the annexation.

This is a very large project that will without question have an impact on the city and its citizens, and we should have the right to have a say in the future of our community. It is far too large of a decision to be made by seven elected officials. The annexation decision is more important than the short-term rental tax, and yet the STR tax is on the ballot.

I am hopeful that Steamboat Springs City Council will leave the decision to the people and put the annexation proposal on the ballot.
