Yampa Valley Youth Baseball registration open through April 15

Tom Skulski/Steamboat Pilot & Today
Only two weeks remain to register a player for the 2025 Yampa Valley Youth Baseball season.
Through April 15, parents and guardians can visit YampaBaseball.org and click the “Login/Register” link to sign up their child for youth baseball.
Teams practice 1-2 days per week with 1-2 games per week at a cost of $200. Games and practices are held at Emerald Baseball Fields at 900 Pamela Lane in Steamboat Springs.
Fees include a team jersey and a hat. Players will be responsible for their own pants, belts, socks, shoes/cleats and baseball mitt. Coaches will provide balls, bats and batting helmets.
Players born between May 1, 2011 and April 30, 2016 will undergo an evaluation process in mid-May, as soon as the fields dry out.
These 9-13 year olds will then be split into two divisions: Minors and Majors, where they will compete against other teams of similar ages and abilities over the duration of the summer season.
The evaluation will include:
- 5 fly balls and a throw to 2nd base
- 5 ground balls and a throw to 1st base
- 5 hits off a pitching machine and a sprint around the bases on the 5th hit
