Yampa Valley Fly Fishers group to meet Wednesday at Rex’s
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Yampa Valley Fly Fishers will host its first meeting of the season at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Rex’s American Bar & Grill.

This month’s speaker is Xander Elliott from St. Peters Fly Shop in Fort Collins. Elliott will be speaking about fly-fishing the Front Range, focusing on the Poudre River drainage and touching on other opportunities in northern Colorado. He’ll also discuss cold weather tactics for fishing local freestones, as well.
Elliott has been a fly-fishing guide at St. Peters Fly Shop in Fort Collins for six-plus years and has been fishing his entire life. He was raised in the Front Range and attended college at Colorado State University. After a stint in central California fishing the salt, he relocated back to his true home, the Rocky Mountains, and his favorite pursuit of trout fishing.
The evening includes free pizza, and the group will host a drawing for fly-fishing gear. The meeting is free and open to the public.
