STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Inspired by Pink Floyd’s iconic “Dark Side of the Moon,” and paired with secular wisdom of scripture, local composer Joseph Becker created the collaborative arrangement of “Obscuri Lateris Illuminati — The Dark Side Illuminated.”

American Floyd, a Pink Floyd cover band hailing from Kansas City, will play through the album while the choir responds in Latin to Becker’s original Requiem, “Sometimes in harmony, sometimes in tension and always with spirited agility,” said Becker.

Performances start at 3 and 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Steamboat Christian Center, 821 Dougherty Road.

The event will showcase the voices of the Steamboat Chamber Singers, who will sing under the direction of Christel Houston, soprano; Nicole Lopez-Hagan a visiting soprano and American Floyd.
