STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Yampa Street has a fresh layer of asphalt, which represents the final major enhancement of the three-year Yampa Street revitalization project. The paving project from Fifth to 12th Streets was completed last week. Stripes will be painted on Yampa Street in early June after other milling and paving projects are completed in Steamboat.

Emerald Park entrance
Work continues on a new access for Emerald Park. After Memorial Day, travelers should expect continued lane closures at the intersection of Emerald Park Lane and South Lincoln Avenue as the median is reconstructed. The city is encouraging drivers to use both lanes of traffic up until merge points. At times, up to half of the Emerald Park parking lot may be closed during construction.

Lincoln Avenue traffic signals
The Colorado Department of Transportation has begun upgrades on Lincoln Avenue traffic signals, and motorists may have noticed some changes. In June, a new signal timing plan will be programmed into the entire system.

U.S. 40 paving project
The 12-mile repaving project began April 30 on U.S. Highway 40 between Walton Creek Road and the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass. The $6.4 million project includes replacing a drainage culvert east of the Rabbit Ears Pass summit. The public information phone number for the project is 970-819-6333 and the email is us40rabbitears@gmail.com.
