Yampa River cleanup in Steamboat Springs and Craig set for July 29
Friends of the Yampa and other partners are presenting Yampa River Cleanups in Steamboat Springs and Craig on Saturday, July 29.
The Steamboat cleanup will focus on 15 different stretches of the Yampa along with surrounding areas and downtown tributaries.
Volunteer check-in begins at 9 a.m. at Little Toots Park, 55 12th St., Steamboat Springs, with cleanup taking place 9 a.m.-noon. To help streamline the check-in process, volunteers are asked to sign-up online by Friday, July 28 at 2 p.m.
Volunteers are asked to wear adequate footwear for walking along the riverbank and bring thick gloves and other items to increase personal comfort. Long-sleeve shirts and bug spray is recommended. Trash bags and pick-up sticks will be provided.
After the cleanup, a lunchtime celebration will start at noon with food from Brooklynn’s Pizzeria provided by the City of Steamboat Springs. Cold beer and soft drinks will be provided by Storm Peak Brewing Co.

The Craig cleanup will take place at the Pebble Beach, Loudy-Simpson and South Beach boat ramps.
Volunteer check-in begins at 10 a.m. at the Loudy-Simpson boat ramp in Craig. Cleanup will take place 10 a.m.-noon.
A celebration and lunch will begin at noon. Cold beer and soft drinks will be provided by Yampa Valley Brewing Company. Informational tents will be set up to provide information about the Yampa River.
