The Yampa River Botanic Park will open its gates for visitors starting 9 a.m. Friday, April 25.
The six-acre park is home to more than 60 unique gardens and thousands of plant and animal species. Early flowers such as crocus, tulips, daffodils, glory of the snow and others have already begun showing their spring colors.
“We’re excited to show off all the early season blooms in the park,” said Executive Director Jennifer MacNeil, in a news release. “There is lots in store this season and we hope folks will join us for fun events, programs and stroll through often to see the park as the seasons change from spring, to summer, to fall.”
The osprey pair, which has been raising young since 2016, returned March 26 for the 10th consecutive year. Visitors can witness these birds through a new viewfinder made possible by a contribution from the Pruett family.
The Botanic Park is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk through October.
