Workshop on understanding financial statements to be offered at CMC

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — SCORE and the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center at Colorado Mountain College are hosting a workshop focused on helping small-business owners and managers understand and interpret their financial statements at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31.

The balance sheet and profit and loss statement are key diagnostic tools for identifying trends and mistakes a small business makes.  The use of ratios, graphs and margins and their utilization in establishing critical success factors for a business will be presented.  This seminar is oriented toward owners and managers who do not have a background in accounting or finance but are interested in improving their skills.

Entrepreneurship Center Manager Randy Rudasics will lead the program. A former business owner and an MBA from University of Wisconsin, Rudasics has worked with many local entrepreneurs to help them understand their financials.

This program will be in conference room 127 in the Entrepreneurship Center at the Colorado Mountain College Academic Center. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required. Call 970-870-4491 to sign up.
