A 22-year-old Steamboat Springs woman was arrested on suspicion of running a man over, dragging his body three feet and leaving the scene of the accident early Thursday morning.

Steamboat Springs police Sgt. Dale Coyner said Crystal Lynn Vodehnal was leaving a house at about 2:36 a.m. in the 3400 block of Hiawatha Court when she ran over a man who was standing behind her car.

Witnesses said several residents and guests of the home had been standing behind Vodehnal’s car trying to stop her from driving and leaving the home, Coyner said.

The man was unable to move away from her car quickly enough and was knocked down and dragged three feet, Coyner said.

Coyner said the man was not seriously injured and only sustained minor abrasions.

He was treated and released for his injures.

Coyner said Vodehnal did not call police after the accident or offer to assist the man after she reportedly ran him over.

Officers found Vodehnal’s car at about noon Thursday and arrested her on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident, failing to provide aid and careless backing, all misdemeanors.

Vodehnal was taken to the Routt County Jail, where she posted $750 bond Thursday afternoon. She is scheduled to appear in Routt County Court at 8:30 a.m. May 23.
