Name: Chris Painter

Occupation: Library director, Bud Werner Memorial Library

Book: “The Love Wife,” by Gish Jen

“The story revolves around a modern day “half-half” family — half American/half Chinese — with the theme of the disapproving Chinese grandmother thrown in to stir things up.

“It’s much like watching a play in which the story unfolds through simply the alternating voices of each of the family members. It’s quirky, it’s fun and immensely entertaining.”
