VFW, American Legion to host Memorial Day service

Veterans of VFW Post 4264 and American Legion Post 44 will conduct Memorial Day services to honor the memory of those who have served in the armed forces at 11 a.m. Monday, May 30, in front of the Veterans Memorial at Steamboat Springs Cemetery.

The public is invited to attend and help honor the devotion of service men and women.

This year, the memorial service will honor local veterans who have passed away through the past year. Traditional military honors will be rendered to remember the sacrifices made by these veterans.

Steamboat Springs Transit will provide bus service to the cemetery from the transit center west of town. Buses will begin running at 9:40 a.m. with the last bus leaving at 10:40 a.m. Buses will return immediately following the service. Traffic control personnel will assist vehicle travel and parking.
