Vaughan nearing end of strong season

— Steamboat Springs half-pipe skier Lennon Vaughan has been riding high approaching the end of the season. He recently wrapped up a long road trip highlighted by a ninth-place finish in men’s half-pipe at the junior world championships in Valmalenco, Italy this week.

Vaughan will also compete next week in the United States of America Snowboard Association National Championships at Copper Mountain, then at the World Skiing Invitational in Whistler, British Columbia.

Vaughan spent much of his season skiing on the Nor-Am Cup circuit and finished 12th overall in the half-pipe ranking in that series. He also competed in late February in a World Cup event, the third of his career. He placed 20th.
