Trial scheduled for case involving motorcyclist death

— A two-day trial has been scheduled for the man accused of careless driving resulting in the death of a 60-year-old German man riding a motorcycle July 2 on Lincoln Avenue.

Scott Penfold, of Steamboat Springs, was driving the Jeep Liberty that crashed into Fels Bernhard. The trial is scheduled for May 15 and 16 in Routt County Court.

If convicted, Penfold faces a minimum of 10 days in jail and a maximum of one year in jail.
