Town Challenge returns with circuit race

— The Town Challenge Mountain Bike Race series returns Wednesday with its third race of the summer, the Churn & Burn Circuit Race on Mount Werner.

The race will be anything but the average Town Challenge event. Rather than one long course, it will feature laps on a shorter course.

On-site registration will end at 5:20 p.m. The children’s races also start at 5:20 p.m. while the adults get rolling at 6 p.m., sport divisions at 7 p.m. and novice racers at 7:50 p.m.

The action will be centered around Gondola Square, which will place host to the start and finish. The pro and expert riders will tackle four laps on a 2.7-mile loop that will stretch up to near the bottom of the Thunderhead Express chairlift.

Other divisions will follow the same track but run few laps, three for sport divisions and two for novices.

More information and registration information is available at http://www.TownChallenge.com.
