Tired Sailors fall to Windsor
Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Springs High School boys lacrosse team scored a big win Friday night at Thompson Valley, but Saturday’s early morning contest at Windsor gassed the Sailors in a 10-6 loss.
“It was definitely a faster-paced game than Thompson Valley,” Steamboat coach Jay Lattimore said. “They were fast and athletic. It was a really good battle, and we kept with them pretty well. It was a couple-goals difference the whole game.”
Senior Willy Gunn led with a pair of goals, while Tait Dixson, Scott Lang, Andrew Firestone and Jackson Draper each tacked on one. Steamboat is now 3-2 overall this spring.
After playing four straight games away from Mountain Conference play, Steamboat will jump back into its league schedule Thursday when the Sailors host 3-3 Summit.
“We need to add a little more to our offense and get a few more looks for our guys coming up,” Lattimore said.
The Steamboat-Summit game at Gardner Field begins at 4 p.m. Thursday.
