Tinker Tiffany: Animal control officers appreciated

— I love dogs. I have rescued and reunited firework-frightened runaway dogs to owners even once in a blizzard on New Year’s Eve. I care.

What I don’t care for is loose dogs barking and snapping at me in my own backyard. Or hearing of friends pets mauled by loose dog or dogs. Not to mention horrible attacks on humans that have happened especially from dog packs.

Also I wish that all dog owners would obey the ordinance of picking up their dog’s excrement. This early spring walking in my neighborhood revealed multiple piles in almost every two feet of road. It’s disgusting and unhealthy.

I am glad we have hardworking animal control officers who I think are doing a fantastic job. I’m glad they have more time to patrol.

After all that is their job description and their time is absolutely justified. I don’t think they are on a witch hunt for doing the job they are supposed to do following the ordinances our city put on the books.

Sounds like if Molly Waters had her way we’d have no animal control officers. Sounds like to me she has a chip on her shoulder.
