Tina Kyprios: Examine funding needs

Tina Kyprios

Throughout the Amendment 66 discussions, we heard three things loud and clear — this community supports education, and given our growth and education goals, there is a funding need on the horizon. Third, supporting our education system is a bipartisan, shared value.

It is time to closely examine our educational funding needs. The Routt County Republicans would like to initiate a community-wide, professional and credible needs evaluation. Once we have identified and agreed upon those needs, let’s all work together to raise that money locally — where the money and the accountability stay here and not with some nameless bureaucrat in Denver.

We owe that to our children and we owe that to our community. Let’s get started together, now.
