Timbers Resorts to debut Italian castle hotel in April

Timbers Resorts, the developer of One Steamboat Place in Steamboat Springs, announced in September an April 2012 opening date for a new hotel in the Tuscany region of Italy. The Hotel Castello di Casole will offer 41 suites in a boutique hotel within a restored 10th-century castle.

Spokeswoman Rachel Esserman said the hotel is about 20 minutes west of Siena and 45 minutes southwest of Florence. She added that reservations go live in November.

The hotel will be located within Castello di Casole, a 4,200-acre private estate in Tuscany previously developed by Timbers Resorts. Following five years of detailed restoration, Hotel Castello di Casole will offer guests rustic Tuscan elegance in a setting featuring more than 100 acres of vineyards and olive groves, a game reserve and a state-of-the-art wellness center. Opening rates April 12 begin from €630 per night, or about $850 based on the current exchange rate.
