Ticket sales brisk for bull riding event

— Brent Romick said tickets sales for the 2004 Pro Bull Riding Classic have been brisk this week, but some reserved seats and general admission tickets still are available.

“We should have some reserved and general admission tickets for sale at the gate this Sunday,” Romick said. “But the VIP section is completely sold out.”

Romick said the seating will be similar to last year’s event, and as always, he encourages reserved ticket holders and general admission ticket holders to show up early for the best seats. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the show will start at 7 p.m.

General admission ticket holders will be limited to the seats in the concrete grand stands south of the racetrack. Reserved ticked holders will be guaranteed a seat in a certain section, but not a specific seat. Those areas will include the metal grandstands on the north side as will as in arena seating at ground level.

The Pro Bull Riding Classic is a part of the Professional Bull Riders Association’s Challenger Tour and will feature 45 of the nation’s top up-and-coming riders battling for a spot on the Built Ford Tough Tour, which is the PBR’s nationally televised event series.

The Challenger Tour is where riders build points to earn a starting position on the Built Ford Tough Tour. Some of the top riders also will compete in Challenger Tour events in an effort to maintain their point standings.

In this Sunday’s format, riders will compete in one of five go arounds. The top 10 scored riders will advance to a final go around and a chance at the Steamboat Springs title.
