Threats at the bar: The Record for Friday, June 9, 2017

1:02 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of suspicious vehicle in the 1700 block of Fetcher Park Drive.

3:15 a.m. Firefighters with Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue were dispatched to help an unconscious person in the 1300 block of Athens Plaza.

10:36 a.m. Officers were called to a theft report at a business in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue. The report involved money missing from a the business’ receipts.



10:41 a.m. Officers were called to a theft report in the 33000 block of Colo. Highway 131. Deputies with the Routt County Sheriff’s Office were also dispatched to the call.

11:49 a.m. Officers were called to a report of fuel theft at a business in the 500 block of Marketplace Plaza. Officers were again dispatched to the same business at 2:49 p.m. for a report of a second fuel theft.



11:56 a.m. Officers were alerted to a 911 hangup originating from a business in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue. Officers determined the call had been made accidentally.

12:08 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken pedestrian in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue.

12:46 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a fight in the 500 block of Mountain Village Circle. Two females were in a physical altercation. They were separated, and officers took a report on the incident.

3:47 p.m. Firefighters were dispatched to help a person having a seizure in the 400 block of Yampa Street.

4:39 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a dog at large at a business in the 800 block of Oak Street. The dog was taken into custody.

 5:02 p.m. Officers were called to investigate an commercial intrusion alarm at a business in the 600 block of Marketplace Plaza.

7:13 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident at a business at Central Park Plaza.

8:21 p.m. Officers were called to a report of threats having been made at a bar in the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue. A male party was reportedly threatening another customer. The male party could not be located.

9:02 p.m. Firefighters with the Oak Creek Fire Protection District were dispatched to help with a structure fire in the 28000 block of Thorpe Mountain Drive in Oak Creek.

9:14 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken pedestrian in the 600 block of Marketplace Plaza.

9:30 p.m. Officers were called to investigate a suspicious incident in the 500 block of Buena Vista Court.

10:49 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken pedestrian at a business in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Steamboat man sees mountain lion on front porch (with video)

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Area Manager Kris Middledorf estimated there are about 4,000 mountain lions in Colorado, though it’s difficult to say how many are in Routt County. Middledorf said human interaction with lions is rare, and humans being attacked by a lion is even more rare.
