January’s honoree, Mitch Kucera, is a senior at Steamboat High School.

“(Kucera) is an excellent student, an avid member of many community groups, a devoted volunteer, and most importantly, a kind and generous young man,” said Kelly Mangus, dean of student culture.

Kucera’s many extracurricular activities include Steamboat Springs High School student government and serving on the Steamboat Spring’s School District’s Culture and Climate Task Force alongside school employees, parents and community members.

February’s honoree, Kellen Adams, is also a senior at Steamboat Springs High School. He was recognized for both outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments.

“I believe Kellen exemplifies what it means to be a student at SSHS,” said Luke DeWolfe, athletic director at Steamboat Springs High School. “I have watched him be a positive role model and mentor to many young student athletes. Kellen is a fierce competitor who, while modeling sportsmanship, leads his teammates by example.”

In the classroom, Adams carries a 3.9 GPA.

The Steamboat Rotary Club is a local service club with more than 100 members. For more, SteamboatRotary.com.
