Police, fire and ambulance calls
2:14 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a fight at Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue. A man reportedly went into a bar and yelled at someone, and a fight ensued. A man suffered broken facial bones, and police were pursuing second-degree assault charges.
3:08 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in the 1100 block of Soda Ridge Way. A man was concerned the bear was going to try and attack his goat. The bear was scared away.
4:49 a.m. Officers were called to return to the 1100 block of Soda Ridge Way, where the bear had returned. It was up a tree, and no goats were harmed overnight.
5:49 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a dog barking at Stone Lane and Meadowood Court. A resident thought a bear might be in the area.
5:53 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious person in the 200 block of Mountain Village Circle. A woman found an unknown man on her couch. The man had been under the influence of something and walked into the wrong condo overnight. The woman did not want to pursue charges.
8:04 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear getting into a dumpster in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue. A citation was issued.
8:44 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear getting into trash in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. A citation was issued.
9:46 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a theft in the 1900 block of Bridge Lane. A business partner reportedly took $15,000 from the business.
10:15 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a person bitten by a dog on Skyline Trail.
1:21 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a neighbor playing loud drums in the 3100 block of Columbine Drive.
2:03 p.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a report of a house on fire in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue. The inside of the home was destroyed, and two cats died.
7:54 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a juvenile caught stealing candy from a grocery store in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.
10:06 p.m. Officers were called to a report of loud music in the 1300 block of Walton Creek Road. It was quiet when officers arrived.
10:45 p.m. Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person with chest pain at Chapman Reservoir.
