Police, fire and ambulance calls

2:41 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 700 block of Oak Street. A woman said someone tried to open her door, and she thought she could hear someone on the roof. Police could not find anyone.

3:11 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident at Steamboat Springs High School. There was a storage shed with an open door and a light on. Police could not find anyone in the area.



11 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a suspicious incident on Forest Service Trail 1190. Some hunters found a fishing pole with bones nearby. Wildlife officials determined they were animal bones. An elk skull and deer skull were found.

11:41 a.m. Deputies were called to a report of tools and a welder stolen from a truck at Routt County Roads 27 and 45Z.



11:47 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident at the high school. A parent said someone called her from an out-of-state number and said her child was sick and needed to be picked up. Police could not determine who made the call.

12:16 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of an assault in the 30300 block of Routt County Road 16

1:26 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a disturbance in the 40500 block of Steamboat Drive. Family members were arguing.

1:54 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear hanging out under a trash can at Torian Plum Plaza. Wildlife officers scared the bear with a firecracker, then used a tazer on it to train it not to return.

2:03 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a sick person in the 2100 block of Curve Plaza.

2:49 p.m. Officers were called to a report of teenagers inside a car filled with smoke in the 800 block of Steamboat Boulevard. The car was located, but police did not have probable cause to pull it over.

3:16 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person smoking marijuana in a car at Pine Grove Road and South Lincoln Avenue. The car was located, but no one was inside.

7:18 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a deer hit by a car in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue. The deer was put down.

7:26 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious car in the 300 block of South Lincoln Avenue. The car had pulled over because it had a punctured tire from running over the deer that was struck earlier.

9:14 p.m. Officers were called to a report of people arguing in the 700 block of Conifer Circle.

9:22 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in a dumpster in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. It was gone when officers arrived.

9:24 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a raccoon hit by a car at Elk River Road and Lincoln Avenue. It could not be located.
