Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:32 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a suspicious car at Emerald Park. A car’s lights were on, but no one was inside.

4:11 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person having difficulty breathing in the 1500 block of Shadow Run Frontage.



8:15 a.m. Officers were called to a report of fecal matter smeared on a vehicle door handle in the 900 block of Merritt Street.

8:43 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear that got into trash and ate tomato plants in the 1300 block of Athens Plaza.



11:19 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear that got into trash that was not bear proof in the 300 block of Blackberry Lane.

1:16 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious person at Anglers Drive and South Lincoln Avenue. A man was holding a sign that was asking people to hit him with quarters. Traffic was being disrupted because of the activity.

1:49 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a two-car, noninjury crash at Pine Grove Road and South Lincoln Avenue.

2:57 p.m. Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a 40-year-old man who was bitten after encountering three rottweilers in the 21100 block of Miles Ranch Lane. He reportedly was playing with the dogs on a neighbor’s property. The man had minor injuries, but details about the incident were not very clear because the man was very high on medical marijuana and had difficulty remembering the details, according to the Routt County Sheriff’s Office.

3:39 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 2100 block of Curve Plaza.

3:47 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a 24-year-old man who fell in the 300 block of Boulder Ridge Road. The man was working on a foundation wall at a construction site and fell about 20 feet. He was unconscious for several minutes and had leg, wrist and head injuries.

4:25 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of a powerline fire in the 1100 block of 13th Street.

4:34 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a man screaming and yelling obscenities in front of the women’s restroom at West Lincoln Park. He continued acting up when officers arrived and was given a ticket for disorderly conduct.

5:05 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a two-car, noninjury crash at Hilltop Parkway and South Lincoln Avenue.

5:13 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a two-car, noninjury crash at 10th and Oak streets.

5:38 p.m. Yampa Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person with chest pain in the 25600 block of Routt County Road 15 in Phippsburg.

6:36 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a dog bit by another dog at Rotary Park.

11:43 p.m. Officers investigated a suspicious car at Howelsen Hill.
