Police, fire and ambulance calls

12 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue was called to help a person with back pain at the Routt County Jail.

12:59 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear in the 600 block of Marketplace Plaza. It was gone when officers arrived.



3:02 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 1300 block of Athens Plaza. A man came home and found his cell phone and bike had been stolen. The man tracked his phone and found it in some nearby bushes.

9:40 a.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who was bleeding in the 200 block of North Poplar Street.



10:20 a.m. Officers were called to a report of an unlocked bike stolen from a back deck in the 2700 block of Après Ski Way.

11:10 a.m. West Routt firefighters were called to help a person who fell at a nursing home in the 2800 block of Owl Hoot Trail.

1:19 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the 2800 block of Owl Hoot Trail.

2:01 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a laptop stolen from a car parked somewhere in Steamboat.

3:24 p.m. Officers were called to a report of people smoking a bong in public in the 2900 block of Alpenglow Way. They could not be located.

4:02 p.m. North Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who was bleeding at Steamboat Lake.

4:31 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a car that drove through a barricade and into wet cement in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.

4:45 p.m. Officers were called to a report of people smoking a bong at Stehley Park. It was an ongoing issue, and the people could not be located.

6 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of an explosion at an RV park in the 25200 block of U.S. Highway 40. A man was pulled from a trailer that had exploded and was flown to a Front Range hospital with burns.

9:41 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a laptop stolen from a car on Oak Street between Sixth and Seventh streets.

9:48 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person at a hotel in the 2200 block of Village Inn Court who was not authorized to be at the property. The person was gone when officers arrived.

9:57 p.m. Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a sick person in the 24700 block of Arapahoe Road.

10:19 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive. Two brothers were arguing.

11:16 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a woman who thought a bear was trying to get into her car in the 1900 block of Christie Drive. The bear had gotten into her Subaru. The bear could be heard huffing and puffing and honking the car horn. The car alarm also went off. The bear was scared away with a bean bag. The car had extensive damage and was probably totaled.

11:19 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken man sitting outside a liquor store having a conversation with himself in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. He was sent on his way.
