Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:10 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear getting into trash in the 1300 block of Sparta Plaza. It was scared away.

12:17 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear getting into trash in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. Police used pepper spray to scare it away.



1:54 a.m. Officers were called to help a woman who locked herself in her car in the 2000 block of Curve Plaza. The locks were not working, and officers helped her get out.

6:51 a.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the 400 block of Meadowbrook Court.



7:31 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious person in the 1700 block of Central Park Plaza. A transient man was yelling and screaming to himself.

8:16 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a two-car, noninjury crash at Weiss Drive and South Lincoln Avenue.

8:44 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the first block of East Logan Avenue.

10:12 a.m. Officers were called to a report of an irate customer who was refusing to leave a bank in the 1900 block of Pine Grove Road.

10:46 a.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of a structure fire in the 2300 block of Ski Trail Lane. It was smoke coming from a grill.

1:19 p.m. Officers contacted panhandlers in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.

1:23 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious person in the 1700 block of Central Park Drive. The manager of a business said a man walked out of the trees swinging a knife. When the man saw the manager, he walked back into the trees. The man could not be located.

3:15 p.m. Officers were called to a report of harassment in the 700 block of Deerfoot Arts Park Drive. It was a neighbor dispute, and the situation was mediated.

4:09 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury crash in the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

7:25 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who heard three gunshots, saw a truck leave the area and the people inside were dumping out alcohol. The vehicle was found, and the noise came from fireworks.

7:48 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to investigate smoke in the 31500 block of Routt County Road 14.

8:55 p.m. North Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a sick person in the 73900 block of C.R. 129.

8:59 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a 2004 Hummer stolen from the 1200 block of 13th Street.

10:28 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear getting into trash in the 2900 block of Columbine Drive.

11:55 p.m. Officers contacted two people camping at Little Toots Park. They were told they could not camp in city limits.
