Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:20 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to a report of a suicide attempt.

12:22 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear getting into an unsecured dumpster in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.



6:09 a.m. Officers contacted a transient sleeping in a dugout at the Howelsen Hill fields. He was told he could not sleep there.

7:12 a.m. Officers were called to a report of an assault in the 1500 block of Shadow Run Frontage. A man reportedly pushed a woman and kneed her in the back. The man was given a summons to appear in court and was referred to mental health officials.



9:40 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a burglary in the 40200 block of Riverbend Trail. A camera was missing.

11:47 a.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of a structure fire in the 3300 block of Après Ski Way. Fire engulfed the house, and the upper story was destroyed. It was suspected a woman with some cognitive medical problems somehow started the fire. She had a minor foot injury, and a firefighter had a minor ankle sprain. Another firefighter was take to Yampa Valley Medical Center as a precaution.

1:03 p.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a child at Strawberry Park Elementary School.

1:22 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a Jeep that ran a red light earlier in the day at Hilltop Parkway and South Lincoln Avenue. It could not be located.

2:07 p.m. Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a report of a tree on fire near mile marker one on Routt County Road 25. A tree had been struck by lightning, and U.S. Forest Service firefighters handled it.

2:54 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person having a seizure in the 400 block of Fourth Street.

5:47 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of someone shooting a gun at a trailhead on Buffalo Pass.

5:52 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a wallet found in the 2000 block of Curve Plaza.

7:03 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a wallet found in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

7:06 p.m. Deputies were called to a report a parent who found possible drug paraphernalia in a child’s room in the 32600 block of Routt County Road 22 near Steamboat. The parent wanted advice.

7:54 p.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a child in the 1500 block of Shadow Run Court.

8:52 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a burglary in the 2200 block of Clubhouse Drive. A door was open, but nothing was missing.

9:09 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of a possible fire in the 400 block of Cherry Drive.

11:30 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a drunken man in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The man had a cut over his eye, and his friends were too intoxicated to take care of him. He was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.
