12:11 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers contacted a citizen in the 800 block of Yampa Street. Officers in the police station heard moaning coming from outside. They found a man in the back of someone else’s truck in the parking lot and were concerned he had entered other cars in the parking lot. The man was drunk and was taken to detox.
2:09 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 300 block of Vista Verde Drive in Hayden. A couple was involved in a dispute, and the man was pounding on the door of a home. Deputies mediated the situation, and the man was given a ride to Steamboat.
10:13 a.m. Deputies were called to a report of an animal complaint at Routt County Roads 41 and 43. A Bernese mountain dog was loose in the intersection.
12:18 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in the 1300 block of Bob Adams Drive. A man was walking on Colorado Mountain College’s campus when he saw a bear. He dropped his sweater near the bear when leaving the area and called police to retrieve the sweater. The sweater was returned to him.
1:35 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 24000 block of Rawhide Trail. A man called to report that a plane flying overhead was causing his horses to run. The plane left the area.
2:11 p.m. Deputies were called to assist a citizen in the 41000 block of Routt County Road 36. A man came across explosives in a shed that he thought were to be used for agriculture purposes and wanted to know how to dispose of them.
2:31 p.m. Officers were called to a report of an animal complaint at Lincoln Avenue and Dream Island Plaza. A dog was at large in Dream Island mobile home park, and officers took the dog into custody. The owner was issued a citation when picking up the dog from the animal shelter.
4:03 p.m. Officers were called to a report of found property in the 1400 block of 13th Street. A bicycle was left on the rack of the Steamboat Springs Transit bus. The bike was registered with the police department and was returned to its owner.
5:11 p.m. Officers investigated smoke at Ninth and Oak streets. No further action was necessary.
7:16 p.m. Officers were called to a report of an assault in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive. A man and his adult daughter were involved in a disturbance. The issue was referred to human services.
