Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:25 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear in a trash can in the front yard at the 100 block of Spruce Street. Officers arrived and scared it away.

1:53 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a fight at a bar in the 700 block of Yampa Street. Officers contacted a couple of men being loud and arguing. The two men were ready to start fighting when officers arrived. They went their own way.



4:58 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear in a garbage can in the 400 block of Laurel Street. It was the third consecutive night the bear had gotten into the trash can, but it was gone by the time officers arrived.

8:30 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a missing person in the 2700 block of Village Drive. A mother reported her 23-year-old son was missing. Shortly after she called officers, her son returned home after a night out with friends.



10:28 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a fraudulent check in the 3300 block of Après Ski Way. It was reported a party had received the check for sale of an item. The check was for a large amount, and the buyer wanted a refund, but it was determined the original check was fraudulent.

12:36 p.m. Officers were called to a disturbance at the Yampa River Botanic Park. It was reported a soccer team was walking through the flowers at the garden. When confronted by a patron, the situation escalated into a disturbance, and everyone was separated when officers arrived. A report was taken.

2:46 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a stolen car near Yampa and Sixth streets. A man reported his car as stolen. Officers contacted him and took a report. After the report was made, officers saw the man who had called driving the car he originally had reported as stolen. The man subsequently was arrested for DUI and speeding.

4:24 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at the Emerald Fields. A parent was ejected by officials from a soccer game. The parent tried to sneak back into the game and was confronted by the officials. A patron called officers to respond to the disturbance.

6:11 p.m. Officers were called to a harassment report in the 2000 block of Curve Plaza. Someone complained they were receiving unwanted text messages, and officers took a report.

9:32 p.m. Officers were called to a noise complaint in the 100 block of Mountain Village Circle. A loud party was going on, and officers told all people involved to quiet down.

11:42 p.m. Officers were called to a noise complaint at the 1400 block of Pine Grove Road. People were having a loud conversation outside, and officers told them to quiet down and go inside.
