Police, fire and ambulance calls


7:52 a.m.
Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of someone sleeping in a car along the Spring Creek trail. Everything was fine.

9:03 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a semi with a tanker tailgating and speeding at Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue. It could not be located.



9:06 a.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a person in the 1300 block of Walton Creek Road. A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and third-degree assault.

9:11 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 1000 block of Thornburg Street. A person received a phone call from someone who was demanding money and claimed to be with the Internal Revenue Service.



9:39 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who had fraudulent charges on a credit card.

10:11 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a burglary in the 600 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Things were stolen overnight from a computer business.

10:18 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who had fraudulent charges on a credit card.

10:48 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who lost skis at the Lower Knoll parking lot.

11:02 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a possible phone scam in the 3400 block of Lincoln Avenue. Someone from a computer company was trying to remotely access a person’s computer. The computer company was actually a legitimate company.

1:51 p.m. Officers were called to a report of someone in the 300 block of Second Street who was receiving unwanted text messages.

3:14 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person in the 1300 block of Mira Vista Court who was concerned that someone might have looked through a file containing Social Security numbers.

5:30 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a driver who was tailgating and trying to force a driver off the road on Lincoln Avenue. The driver was issued a summons for reckless endangerment.

7:52 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the 30600 block of Deerwood Ranch Road.

10:22 p.m. Officers were called to check on a drunken man at Chinook Lane and Willowbrook Court. The man was having trouble standing up. He was locked out of his condo after losing his keys in the snow. Friends did not want to take care of the man, so he was taken to detox.
