Steamboat Springs — Midnight. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a semitrailer that hit two elk on U.S. Highway 40 near mile marker 139.
7:06 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a vehicle that rolled on its roof near the 13th Street Bridge. No one was injured.
7:24 a.m. Officers were called to a report of an abandoned car in the 2800 block of Honeysuckle Lane. The car was tagged.
8:55 a.m. Animal control officers were called to a report of two loose dogs in the 1300 block of Hilltop Parkway. The dogs were gone when officers arrived.
9:26 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a trespass in the 3000 block of Village Drive.
9:28 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a two-vehicle, noninjury crash at Steamboat Springs High School.
11:56 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a man approximately 18 years old who ran a shopping cart into a car in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive.
12:02 p.m. Animal control officers were called to a report of a dog in a car with windows rolled up on Burgess Creek Road. The car was gone when officers arrived.
12:26 p.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a person in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. The person was not home.
2:39 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a vehicle that slid off the road near Whistler Road and Sparta Plaza.
4:39 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person getting hit by a snowball in the 1800 block of Ski Time Square Drive. The person was not hurt, and officers were unable to locate the teenagers suspected of throwing the snowball.
4:51 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of a domestic disturbance in Phippsburg.
4:55 p.m. Officers were called to help Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders with a 42-year-old man suffering altitude sickness at a bar in Ski Time Square. The man was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center.
5:11 p.m. A man called police to report harassing phone calls.
5:45 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a woman sitting on a bench crying in the first block of Covey Circle. Officers were unable to find the woman.
5:55 p.m. Officers were called to help emergency responders with a woman in Sparta Plaza who had been vomiting for five days.
6:57 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a woman who was driving and repeatedly backing into another vehicle in the 800 block of Yampa Street. Officers arrested a 69-year-old Florida woman on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
10:02 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the 1400 block of Robert E. Lee Lane. A 44-year-old Steamboat Springs man was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder and several other felonies. For more, see story on page 3.
11:02 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a man who lost his wallet.
11:29 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of rocks on U.S. 40 near mile marker 116.
