Police, fire and ambulance calls

2:26 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers contacted a bear at 11th Street and Lincoln Avenue.

9 a.m. Yampa Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a report of a rollover crash in the 21100 block of Colorado Highway 131 in Phippsburg. No one was injured.



10:29 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a phone scam in the 100 block of Park Avenue.

1:48 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a couple having a child custody dispute in the 1300 block of Mountain Village Circle.



3:38 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person putting trash in a Dumpster they were not supposed to use.

6:44 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who saw a male hiding out in the bushes for the past four hours at Third and Maple streets. When approached, the male stood up and ran away. He could not be found.

9:06 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a theft at Colorado Mountain College. A male employee reported that $9,000 in cash had been taken from a backpack he left inside his office. The man said only one other person knew the money was in there. The man did not want to say why he had the large amount of cash.
