The best businesses and shopping in Steamboat
Go-Fer Foods at the intersection of Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue the store some still call the Space Station was chosen as the best convenience store in Steamboat. The 7-11 west of the city was second, while Kum N Go was third.
Locals picked Wells Fargo as their favorite bank. First National Bank of Steamboat Springs was second while Vectra Bank was third.
Olivia’s Home Furnishings was voted the best place to find beautiful home dr. White Hart Gallery and Into The West tied for second.
True Value Hardware, which was also voted the best hardware store in the city, was voted the best home remodeling store. BMC West came in second and Bogg’s Hardware was third.
Clothing store for men
Allen’s clothing on Lincoln Avenue was voted the best clothing store for men. Allen’s neighbor, F.M. Light & Sons, had the second-most votes, while Wal-Mart was third.
Steamboat residents picked True Value as the city’s best hardware store. Handymen might also want to try Bogg’s Hardware, which came in second, or Steamboat Lumber / Ace Hardware, voted third.
Looking for a diamond ring, gold necklace or simply some earrings? Steamboat locals voted Del’s Jewelry as the city’s best jewelry store. Hofmeister Personal Jewelers and Sara Buckles tied for second.
When it comes to used items, nobody does it better than Lift-Up, voted the best second-hand store in Steamboat. Rummagers was the second second-hand store. Use It Again Sports and Lockhart Auction & Realty tied for third place.
City Market was voted the city’s best grocery store, beating out Safeway. Market on the Mountain finished third.
Women’s Clothing Store
Locals chose Chez Nous as the best women’s clothing store in the ‘boat. Kali’s Boutique finished and 8th Street West was third.
Steamboat Art Company was chosen as the best place to purchase that special gift for a certain someone. The second choice was Lyon’s Corner Drug, and All That Jazz was third.
Readers selected KFMU and its rock format as the city’s best radio station. National Public Radio station KUNC was voted second, and country station KBCR was third.
Child Care Facility
Laurel Street and Discovery Learning Center tied for first as the best child-care facilities in the city. First Tracks Day Care was third.
In addition to being one of readers’ favorite gift shops Lyon’s Corner Drug was voted the city’s best pharmacy. City Market was second and Wal-Mart was the third best.
The Steamboat Grand, the Sheraton, and Torian Plum all tied for first place as the best lodging facilities in Steamboat.
Bed and Breakfast
Steamboat Bed and Breakfast was chosen as the city’s best bed and breakfast. Mariposa was second, and The Inn at Steamboat was third.
Automotive Repair Shop
Bob Logan’s downtown service station the aptly named Bob’s Conoco was voted Steamboat’s best automotive repair shop. Four Star Repair Inc. and Elk Mountain Automotive tied for second place.
Ski Haus was voted the best place in the city to go for sporting goods. Matt and Bryan’s Outdoor Shop was second, while Straightline came in third.
