Sixteen-year-old David Schwanke’s mother said he is doing better and has been moved out of the intensive care unit at Yampa Valley Medical Center.

Schwanke rolled his 1987 Ford Ranger pickup on County Road 129 near Clark on Wednesday night. He injured his lung and elbow and suffered other contusions in the one-vehicle wreck.

Schwanke was headed north on CR 129 from a friend’s house in Steamboat when he reportedly went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.
