Ted Carey: Thank you Steamboat for supporting free concerts

Dear Steamboat Springs,

Thank you for an awesome summer. Steamboat Free Summer Concerts is beyond grateful for the support we have received from you for the past 26 seasons and for the support we know you will show us in the summers to come. Thank you to the city of Steamboat Springs for their extensive support and for providing us one of the most unique music venues in the world.

Thank you to all of our very generous sponsors who keep the music free for all. Thank you to all of the vendors and support groups who make the concerts happen on demand and on time.

Thank you to the city of Steamboat Springs police and community service officers who make our events a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you to all of the local bands who get the music started early and bring out a great crowd of friends and family.

Most importantly, a big thanks to you, the Steamboat community, without which Steamboat Free Summer Concerts would be nothing. Thank you for showing up and smiling. Thank you for dancing. Thank you for bringing your families. Thank you for supporting free music in our community by buying concessions, for contributions small and large and for joining us in the Butcherknife Brewing Company Local’s Lounge. Thank you for enjoying food from your favorite local spots and for supporting businesses in town that you see support causes that are important to you.

In all of these ways, you are supporting Steamboat Free Summer Concerts, and you are supporting a community event. I applaud you.

Cheers, and see you next summer.

Ted Carey

Steamboat Free Summer Concerts board president
