Sustainability Council seeks sponsors for Talking Green series

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Yampa Valley Sustainability Council is mobilizing the community around climate action and seeking sponsors to support the organization’s Talking Green free adult education series.

Since 2007, more than 6,400 adults have attended Talking Green educational events about everything from tiny homes to raising backyard chickens. This year, the series will focus on climate action and feature timely films and high-profile speakers from outside the community, including the sustainability director from Aspen Skiing Co., a water expert from Western Resources Advocates and a physician specializing in climate and health from the University of Colorado Department of Wilderness and Environmental Medicine.

The Sustainability Council’s annual Sustainable Business, Garden and Home tours also are part of the series. In addition, the Talking Green program is part of Green Drinks International, a worldwide networking, education and social movement.
