Super Seniors: Vanda Nohinek

Vanda Nohinek

Editor’s note: The Steamboat Pilot & Today asked readers to tell us about their favorite seniors over the age of 75 and then we asked these Super Seniors to share their secrets to living a long and healthy life.

Vanda Nohinek

Age: 87

Super powers: Vanda Nohinek, a mother of seven, is a very active, nonstop senior. Recently, she spent one week cycling in Amsterdam with one grandchild, and the next week, she was off to scuba dive in the Caribbean with another grandchild. Vanda rode her custom Eriksen bike in the Tour de Steamboat last summer, volunteers as the cookie lady at Yampa Valley Medical Center and also is active in her church.

What are your secrets for living a long and healthy life?

“I have no secret. Daily care of soul is No. 1 and care of body is No. 2.”
