Strings Music Festival: C Street Brass returns to summer home in Steamboat
For Steamboat Pilot & Today
Summer is here and for C Street Brass that means a chance for us to return to our
second home in Steamboat Springs for another season at Strings Music Festival. C Street Brass started as a small project among college friends and has since blossomed into a project that has brought us around the globe.
We’ve traveled to Doha, Qatar, Tbilisi, Georgia, all across the United States and many places in between. Even so, no place is quite like Steamboat. As we enter our sixth summer here as young artists in residence, we look forward to all that this town and the Strings Music Festival have to offer — amazing music, delicious food, good friends and a chance to hone our craft.
Playing and performing at Strings Music Festival presents unique opportunities for C Street Brass. We can try out ideas, stay in the finest musical shape and gain inspiration for the rest of the year. Being here allows us to press reset with mountain therapy, some of the finest concerts in the world and gorgeous Steamboat weather.
While in Steamboat, we’ll play at a variety of locations, including the Main Street Farmers Market, Pro Series Rodeo and Music on the Green. We’ll also perform at the BARley on Thursday, Aug. 2 for a special evening of music and beer. We hope to see you at one or many of these performances.
While there are many things to love about Steamboat, it’s meeting the wonderful people here that set this town apart. When we’re not performing, C Street Brass takes our extracurricular activities very seriously. From breakfast burritos at Creekside Café to late night drinks at Sunpies, we try to enjoy everything here.
Our yearly itinerary always includes Strawberry Park Hot Springs, multiple trips to Taco Cabo, a Devil’s Causeway hike and Sunset Happy Hour. Inevitably, impromptu concerts pop up, and we hope you’ll check out a performance. It’s an honor to share our music with you. We hope to see you soon in our home away from home.
Gabriel Colby is a member of C Street Brass and a young artist in residence at Strings Music Festival.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Bleach, carcinogens and petroleum – oh my! Not to worry though; these are all ingredients that you’ll never find in Alpine Bee Candles.
