Streaker hits Lincoln Avenue

— St. Patrick’s Day turned into a cold and snowy night, but it didn’t stop a Steamboat Springs man from making good on a lost bet made over a basketball game. According to the bet, the loser would run naked from the Old Town Pub to the Smokehouse at 8 p.m. AT&T Media Services Producer Kelly Anzalone caught the sprint on tape.

“We set up at Old Town Pub and he hauled past us,” Anzalone said. “Then we hopped in the van and (drove) to the Smokehouse in order to catch the end of it.”

Anzalone said the footage would not be appropriate to air on Steamboat’s community access Channel 10, but he may save it for future use in Cabaret, a local mud season variety show.

Steamboat Springs Assistant Police Chief Art Fiebing said the alleged streak down Lincoln Avenue may technically be against the law, but “officers have more important things to do than give chase,” he said. “You have got to keep your sense of humor.”
